Kelowna Friends of the Library
The Kelowna Friends of the Library, a non-profit organization formed in 1988, is registered under the Society Act of British Columbia and the Canada Income Tax Act. The Friends' mission is to raise funds to support the Okanagan Regional Library in general and the three Kelowna area Branches in particular - to enhance the profile of our libraries in the community and increase awareness and use of library programs and services.
All persons interested in libraries can obtain a membership for $5.00 per year at the Kelowna, Mission, or Rutland branch libraries. For membership information, please contact us at 250-763-7323 (READ). If you reach our voice mail please leave a message & a volunteer will phone back as soon as possible.
Kelowna Friends of the Library Executive meetings are held the second Monday of most months (except February, July, August and November) commencing at 5:30 pm in the Kelowna Library meeting room. The Annual General Meeting is held every November.
Our major fundraiser, the Great Okanagan Book Sale takes place in October each year. The Kelowna Friends of the Library also host other sales, public meetings and author events throughout the year.
